The New York Giants signed second-round pick Linval Joseph, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
The 6-4 defensive tackle from East Carolina likely signed a four-year contract. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed yet but offensive lineman Zane Beadles -- who was selected a pick ahead of Joseph at 45th overall by the Broncos -- recently signed a four-year deal worth $4.2 million with $2.7 million guaranteed according to the Denver Post. So Joseph likely will make in the $4 million range with a guarantee worth close to what Beadles got.
Joseph signed a day before the Giants open camp in Albany on Sunday. Joseph has impressed in offseason workouts and is expected to battle for playing time as a sub for starters Barry Cofield and Chris Canty.
First-round pick Jason Pierre-Paul, the defensive end from South Florida taken 15th overall, remains the lone unsigned draft choice for the Giants.
