Trading Jose Reyes?

It would be surprising if Jose Reyes gets traded this offseason for a number of reasons: he's popular and homegrown; there's no heir apparent; you would be trading low because he's only signed through 2011; and you'd be trading low because of recent injuries.

Still, that should not stop teams from asking, and from the Mets at least asking for the moon in return.

Giants beat writer Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle tweets: "Yesterday I speculated on Jose Reyes for Giants. I can tell you Reyes is available and healthy, but Mets want a boatload in return. I'm hearing Mets want 3-4 players/prospects back for Reyes. That's a lot for an $11 m player to become a FA in '11. Might be a July deal."
