Ryota Igarashi has cleared waivers and was outrighted by the Mets to Triple-A Buffalo, a baseball source confirmed to ESPNNewYork.com. That was the expected scenario, since any team claiming Igarashi would have been responsible for his $1.75 million salary in 2011.

Igarashi is nonetheless expected in major league camp with the Mets as a non-40-man-roster player.
