Yanks extend relationship with Scranton

During Thursday night's Yankees-Rays game, the Yankees announced that they have extended their relationship with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as their Triple-A affiliate through the 2014 season.

"We remain committed to having our Triple-A franchise in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre," said Lonn Trost, the chief operating officer of the Yankees, in a written statement. "The market offers us an excellent combination of business opportunities as well as player developent and baseball operations efficiencies. We are delighted to be extending our relationship in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre."
