Legend of Iupati grows at Senior Bowl

If you followed the build-up to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., you know it probably should've been renamed the Tim Tebow Bowl. Hundreds of scouts, coaches and reporters gathered to watch the former Florida quarterback, but it's another player who has taken over the Senior Bowl.

As Gerry Fraley of The Dallas Morning News reports, Idaho offensive lineman Mike Iupati continues to turn heads. What started out as a rumor about a "beast from the West" has turned out to be the real deal, according to the coaches and scouts I've spoken with this week.

And there's a decent chance the Eagles (No. 24) and Cowboys (No. 27) will take a long look at Iupati leading up to the draft. Here's what Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said about Iupati:

"The thing scouts, general managers and coaches want to see when you step up to this level and go against guys from bigger conferences is, if there is an adjustment," said Schwartz, who is coaching the North squad this week. "There hasn't been a whole lot of an adjustment for Mike. He's right at home playing against these other guys, who are the best players in the country. No matter the level of competition they've faced, the region of the country they're from, that doesn't diminish their talents."

If you had to choose a breakout player of the week, it would be Iupati. OK, now we can return to breaking down Tebow's every thought.
