Former Cardinals starting safety Antrel Rolle will meet with the New York Giants on Friday, according to Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. He reportedly has an offer from the Dolphins on the table but it's a good sign for the Giants that Rolle's headed for the Meadowlands.
Rolle's a former cornerback who moved to safety with the Cardinals. He would be an immediate upgrade over Michael Johnson and he could join Kenny Phillips in what would be a talented duo. But the Giants aren't operating as if Phillips is going to be fully recovered from microfracture knee surgey. They can't afford to be that optimistic after watching some awful play from the safety positions last season.
And in other news, ESPN is reporting that defensive end Julius Peppers will meet with the Bears on Friday. Adam Schefter thinks the Bears have the best shot at signing Peppers at this point. So where does that leave the Redskins? Well, does Aaron Kampman do anything for you? He hasn't exactly lit it up as an outside linebacker in a 3-4.
