Stop the presses/servers! With barely any warning, the NFL released its 65-game preseason schedule Wednesday afternoon. We already knew the Cowboys and Bengals were playing in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Sunday, Aug. 8 in Canton, Ohio.
But now we know the Giants and Jets will play in the first preseason game at new Meadowlands Stadium on Monday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. ET. That will be one of four preseason games on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" and it should actually be pretty intriguing to see the Jets' and Giants' new stadium.
Of course, "Monday Night Football" will also have the Jets' first regular-season game Sept. 13. The Giants will also play the Ravens, Patriots and Steelers in the preseason. The Steelers and Patriots will both be visiting the new stadium, so Giants fans will have three dress rehearsals before the regular-season opener Sept. 12.
Surely the NFL will send the Cowboys or Eagles to East Rutherford, N.J., for that game. What do you guys think? You had to know the Jets and Giants would open the stadium together. The league didn't even need a secret coin flip to get that one right.
