On Friday afternoon, I had the pleasure of asking three Cowboys quarterbacks about their memories of Texas Stadium as we prepared for the building to be demolished Sunday. The interview took place on 103.3 ESPN's "Galloway and Company," which can be heard in North Texas weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m.
Troy Aikman was actually hanging out at Roger Staubach's house Friday, so that made things pretty easy. (Aikman's daughter plays on the same basketball team as Staubach's granddaughter, and a practice was being held in Roger's backyard.) Here's what Staubach had to say about his favorite memories of Texas Stadium. And then Aikman talked about barely making it through the '89 season.
And by the way, Aikman said he'd heard a rumor that the Cowboys would be opening the season on the road against Donovan McNabb and the Redskins. Since Aikman is employed by the network that would likely broadcast that game, I'd say it's a pretty good lead.
I'll be back this evening with more from our interviews.
