I've returned from Ashburn, Va., with three notebooks full of Redskins information. You can read more about Washington in my Camp Confidential story, which will likely appear on ESPN.com at some point Thursday.
But before we do that, I wanted to pass along a note from my colleague KC Joyner, who's back in his NFL laboratory. I missed this, but apparently Eagles owner Jeff Lurie mentioned in his state of the Eagles address that Lito Sheppard needed to improve his yards per attempt allowed average (YPA). It was a strange thing for an owner to bring up about a player who's already disgruntled about his status on the team.
Instead of just taking Lurie at face value, KC started crunching the numbers. Turns out Lurie's on the mark. Sheppard was tied for 62nd among qualifying corners (32 or more pass attempts) by allowing 8.1 yards per attempt.
Who's the best in the league? I'll talk to KC and get back to you.
