Dallas OTA roundup: Bryant awed by Romo

Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com is at Valley Ranch covering the first day of the Cowboys' organized training activities, and he has the story on how new receiver Dez Bryant was in awe of his new surroundings.

"There was one time that [quarterback Tony Romo] was explaining the play to me," Bryant said. "I really didn’t care about the play. I was excited that he was talking to me. It made me feel good."

Meanwhile, coach Wade Phillips claims it would have been fine if Romo had opted to try to qualify for the Byron Nelson golf tournament instead of attending the first day of OTAs. But Romo didn't seem to mind skipping the tournament.

"It’s not like I missed out on something today," Romo said. "I got to go out there and compete and get better. It’s football, and it’s the funnest thing I do."
