NFL could learn from the Masters

One of the great things about watching the Masters on CBS is the lack of commercials. There are only four minutes of commercials per hour, which seems about 20 minutes less than a typical NFL game.

The folks at Fifth Down Blog (New York Times) talked about this Sunday. There is nothing worse than going to a commercial after a touchdown, coming back to watch the kickoff and then going to another commercial. I realize the folks at the Masters play by a different set of rules, but this is one of those things the viewer really appreciates.

The NFL wouldn't have to do anything dramatic with its television partners. But cutting back on a break or two would be a nice gesture.
