That's one of the first questions coach Mike Shanahan asked upon taking the Redskins job. And now it looks like the 27-year-old Intense Football League veteran is on the verge of claiming a roster spot. Anthony Armstrong has six catches for 91 yards and a touchdown in the preseason, while the aging Joey Galloway's still waiting on his first catch.
"When I came in here and took the job, I said, 'Who is that guy?'" Shanahan told reporters Tuesday. "He showed a lot of speed. Obviously, he was released somewhere along the line. We brought him in. You can see he's got speed. He's been making some plays."
Sometimes players will flash in the preseason and then disappear once the real games begin, but Armstrong has a legitimate shot to be part of the rotation.
