Dallas Cowboys nose tackle Jay Ratliff will miss practice Wednesday and Thursday while attending the funeral for his grandparents, according to ESPNDallas.com. Willie and Arletha Ratliff died in a house fire last week in Hahira, Ga., that authorities believe was caused by an electrical shortage in the washing machine.

According to a local television station, Arletha Ratliff, 74, was attempting to save her husband, a double amputee, during the fire. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Ratliff family as they deal with this awful tragedy. I'm sure the Cowboys are giving Ratliff all the time he needs right now, but he obviously played Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with this on his mind.

Josh Brent will work with the first team until Ratliff rejoins the team Friday.
