Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten suffered a sprained right MCL in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Houston Texans and his status in practice this week is uncertain, according to ESPNDallas.com's Calvin Watkins. The Cowboys were disappointed to have their bye week after Week 3 when the schedules were released in April, but now it's looking like a good thing.
Starting left guard Kyle Kosier tweaked the same right MCL that caused him to miss part of training camp and season opener in Washington but a source told me this injury isn't nearly as bad. I'm told that Kosier is "week to week," so obviously he'll get the benefit of the bye week. Montrae Holland will practice with the first team if Kosier's not ready to go. We'll keep you posted on any further developments.
