According to this Associated Press story, former Texas A&M quarterback Stephen McGee stormed out of the house in anger when he wasn't taken in the third round of last month's draft. That's interesting to me because I thought he was fortunate to go early in the fourth round. Especially when you factor in his lack of playing time his senior season at A&M -- a team that has become the doormat of the Big 12 South (it's true!).

Unlike Mike Leach at Texas Tech, I believe that McGee would've started for the Aggies if he hadn't suffered a shoulder injury early in the season. But now he's carrying around a huge chip on his shoulder -- and Jerry Jones loves that about him. Here's what McGee had to say about his future in the NFL.

"I do know people don't believe in me and don't think I'm a good quarterback," he said. "I want to be the best quarterback in the N.F.L., and that doesn't change. Those things will always be with me and continue to motivate me for years to come."

I'm interested to follow the careers of Stephen McGee and Giants fifth-round pick Rhett Bomar. I've always thought Bomar was the better quarterback, but McGee might prove me wrong. I know the Cowboys' scouts are in love with him. Now we'll see what Jason Garrett and Co. think of him.
