Hakeem Nicks for MVP?

Don't look now, but New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks has shown up on Mike Sando's prestigious MVP Watch this week. Here's what Sando said about Nicks, who is No. 9 on the list behind Drew Brees:

"The Giants have multiple candidates. Ahmad Bradshaw? No doubt about it," Sando writes. "He leads the NFL in rushing and ranks fourth in rushing yards per game. Eli Manning? He's tied for the league lead in TD passes. Osi Umenyiora? Eight sacks and seven forced fumbles speak loudly. Nicks prevails this week. He ranks tied for the league lead in TD receptions and tied for second in receptions covering at least 20 yards. He's also ascending. Nicks has topped 100 yards receiving three times in his past four games after a modest start to the season."

I'd probably lean toward Bradshaw at this point, but it's hard to argue with what Nicks has accomplished so far this season. Manning's interception total keeps him out of the top 10.
