Ernie Sims is 'absolutely' appealing fine

Just as we suspected, Philadelphia Eagles starting linebacker Ernie Sims plans to "most definitely" appeal his $50,000 fine for a hit on Tennessee Titans wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins in the second quarter of a game Oct. 24.

"I really really hate the fact that I got fined $50,000. I don't care how much money you make, that's a ton of money," Sims told reporters Thursday. "For anyone to take it away from me for something I do on the field, I just think it’s crazy. But this is the league that I play in, I've got to respect that."

It will be interesting to see if Sims changes his approach at all. He has more questionable hits than anyone on the roster, and he was a repeat offender from what he'd done while with the Lions.
