SAN ANTONIO -- This is our last day at the Alamodome and then the Beast bus will head on its northeast tour. I'll be in Bethlehem on Sunday and Monday, Albany on Tuesday and Wednesday and Ashburn, Va., on Thursday and Friday. OK, here are some of the top headlines from around the division today:
Cowboys
- Randy Galloway of the Star-Telegram thinks that Tony Romo will be a better quarterback than Eli Manning in two years.
- Jerry Jones knows the window of opportunity for winning a Super Bowl could close at any minute, according to Star-Telegram writer Jeff Caplan.
- David Moore, one of the best NBA writers in the country, has a story on Terence Newman.
- Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News says it's put up or shut up time for three players on the Cowboys' defense.
- Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett make an odd couple at tight end, according to Morning News beat man Todd Archer.
- Here's a look at some really bad haircuts for the Cowboys' rookie O-linemen.
- Jody Dean will be the PA voice of the new stadium. Not sure why George Dunham was dumped. His fake John Facenda voice offered comic relief during games.
Eagles
- I'm anxious to get to the Lehigh campus. Apparently tempers have been flaring in practice.
- Les Bowen says that DeSean Jackson has been dominant in this camp.
- Jackson tells my guy Reuben Frank that he'll be "tons, tons, tons" better this season.
- Marcus Hayes of the Daily News says Quintin Mikell's ready to become a leader for the Eagles.
- Sean McDermott isn't too concerned about his secondary.
Giants
- Bob Raissman of the Daily News woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. He's tired of Eli Manning and Antonio Pierce being painted as "victims."
- Justin Tuck thinks Eli Manning deserves "every cent" of his $97.5 million extension. And by the way, Tuck may be the biggest bargain in the NFL right now -- and I'm sure he might bring that up at some point.
- Other quarterbacks will now be asking for Eli money.
- Osi Umenyiora says it's not about the money, according to Ralph Vacchiano.
- Tom Rock says Mathias Kiwanuka's not thrilled about being a backup.
Redskins
- Rookie Kevin Barnes' head is spinning early in camp. Mostly because Santana Moss keeps racing past him.
- Is it just me or do the Redskins have more hamstring issues with wide receivers than any team in the league?
- London Fletcher got away from his teammates this past offseason.
- Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly are doing a better job dealing with injuries this time around.
- Here's some video of a quarterback dodgeball game at Skins camp.
