I wonder if Eli Manning (and his agent) raised an eyebrow Monday when word came down about Philip Rivers' contract extension. Manning's deal may have exceeded Rivers' by about $5 million, but all that really matters is the guaranteed portion of the contract.
In that category, Rivers received somewhere in the $38 million to $39 million range. You might recall that Manning only received $35 million. It's probably not a huge deal to the Manning family, but it's an interesting distinction for two quarterbacks who will always be connected because of the draft-day trade in 2004.
Manning has the Super Bowl ring, Rivers doesn't. What do you guys think of Rivers' new contract?
