Beast Prediction Friday

12/31/2010

We do it every week at the same time. Let's take a look at who the ESPN experts like in games involving NFC East teams, and then I'll provide my own stone-cold locks:

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles Maybe the experts turned in their picks before realizing Andy Reid would rest most of his starters against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. But all eight panelists predicted an Eagles win. I don't see it.

Mosley's pick: Cowboys 24, Eagles 13. Reid isn't going to open up his playbook for Kevin Kolb and let him torch the Cowboys' secondary. He'll politely hand the win to Jason Garrett and then move on about his playoff business. This game is much more meaningful to Garrett because he's coaching for his job.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins: The Giants always beat the Redskins, and that's why no one picked Mike Shanahan's team. I actually think this will be a lot closer score than most people.

Mosley's pick: Giants 21, Redskins 17. The Skins will stand up and play for Shanahan. But in the end, Eli Manning will find Derek Hagan in the back of the end zone for the game-winning score. Giants defensive tackle Barry Cofield quietly put together a Pro Bowl season. He'll cause a Rex Grossman fumble late in this game.

Happy New Year from the NFC East blog!
