I've been dealing with the Dallas Cowboys' coaching hire most of the afternoon, but I at least wanted to mention an amusing story involving New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin. Apparently he had a few choice words for his critics in the aftermath of Sunday's 17-14 win over the Washington Redskins.

"Outstanding," Coughlin said in the locker room in a video that was captured by Showtime's "Inside the NFL." "Outstanding finish to the ballgame. We did our part, OK? That's all I can ask you to do. Hey, from the bottom of my heart and everybody's, we have a 10-6 season! A 10-win season in the NFL, OK? And they can kiss my ass, OK? They can line up and kiss my ass. It's not an easy thing to do."

When a player asked if he could quote Coughlin on that statement, he said, "You can quote me on a lot more than that. The priest is here or I'd say a few more things."

Sounds a lot like something Bob Knight might've said a few years back. And it's good to see Coughlin blowing off some steam. I'm sure the constant criticism has worn on him, and he needed to get a few things off his chest.
