It appears the Dallas Cowboys could have a new defensive coordinator by the end of the week. The Cowboys have already spoken to Stanford defensive coordinator Vic Fangio and are expected to interview 49ers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky this week, according to ESPNDallas.com.

Wade Phillips wanted to hire Manusky to his staff in '07, but things didn't work out. The two had worked together with the Chargers. Fangio is a Dom Capers disciple and former NFL player. Garrett had wanted to hire Capers as his defensive coordinator if he'd gone to the Ravens or Falcons following the '07 season. And Fangio has worked on Capers' staffs in the past.

If you watched the Eagles-Packers game Sunday, you know why Garrett's so high on Capers. He loves the way Capers is aggressive with his blitz calls. And he thinks something like that would lead to more turnovers in Dallas.
