Jeff Fisher is no longer the coach for the Tennessee Titans, but that doesn't mean he'll pursue the defensive coordinator job for the Eagles. Fisher told the The Tennessean that he's ready to concentrate on fishing for a while.
He was the defensive coordinator with the Eagles from 1998-90 and you'd have to think coach Andy Reid would've given him strong consideration. There were reports last night that Reid had already filled his coordinator spot, leading to speculation about Fisher coming to Philadelphia. But Jeff McLane from the Inquirer and Les Bowen of the Daily News have both said that's not the case.
It appears that the Eagles are still waiting to interview candidates who are involved in the Super Bowl. And with the money Jeff Fisher's making from the Titans, there's no rush for him to grab the first job available. I'm sure several teams are privately upset that this divorce didn't occur earlier. Fisher would've been one the of the hottest names on the market.
By the way, here's what Bowen said about Fisher possibly returning to Philadelphia.
