Former Cowboys wide receiver Isaiah Stanback couldn't stay healthy in his two seasons and a training camp with the team. And there's also the part about him not being a very good wide receiver. The former University of Washington quarterback tried to make the transition, but he never looked comfortable running routes or catching the football, which can be useful tools to playing the position.
Fortunately for Stanback, Bill Belichick and the Patriots were there to catch him Sunday. Stanback will play quarterback on the Patriots' practice squad. Here's what he told DallasNews.com on Sunday:
"I tried very hard at receiver," Stanback said. "I busted my butt at receiver and did whatever was asked of me. I think I could do it, but I was never comfortable with it. Quarterback is what I've done my whole life. It's what I'm comfortable with."
