While we're waiting to hear from Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, let's check in with club president Joe Banner. I happened to stumble across his "From the President's Desk" segment on the team's Web site (choose No. 7). Banner's bullish on the NFC East and he believes playing in the division offers a built-in advantage because teams "have the chance to make the longest run in the postseason" if they can somehow survive those six games.

And Banner's not limiting his praise to the Giants and Cowboys. Here's what he said about the division's postseason hopes:

"Any one (of the teams in the NFC East) is capable of winning the division," Banner said. "Any one of them is capable of winning the Super Bowl. That's how good this division is."

Banner's coffee cup in the background has his first name written in bold letters. Very presidential.
