EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- I just bumped into Giants general manager Jerry Reese while I was hovering over the Giants PR staff trying to secure the inactives for Hall of Famer John Clayton. Looking resplendent in a gray pin-striped suit, Reese said he didn't feel any "butterflies" at all heading into today's game.

"I don't have to do anything," he joked.

Reese said he expects a "very physical" game and he's very impressed with what the Redskins have done with their personnel. Some of you might recall that Reese attempted to sign Albert Haynesworth in free agency, but he tossed in his cards when he realized that Skins owner Dan Snyder was willing to do whatever it took.

Now the Giants will have to block arguably the best defensive tackle in the game. OK, maybe it's not even arguable. I think the Giants need to come out and hit a couple of downfield passes in order to keep the Skins from sitting on the run.

Can't wait to visit with you guys on our new "Cover It Live" software. I've spent the past week trying upload my Avatar. We'll see how things work out once the game begins. I'm watching Tom Coughlin going up and down each row offering encouragement as the Giants are stretching. From my vantage point high above Giants Stadium, Coughlin appears to have his game face on.

Thanks for your continued support of the Beast.
