This just in: Giants defensive end Justin Tuck has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the team's 23-17 win over the Redskins on Sunday. Tuck had 1.5 sacks, two tackles for a loss and a pass deflection. Osi Umenyiora had the flashier play with the sack and 37-yard fumble return for a touchdown, but Tuck had the better overall game.
The only player in the NFC East who may have had a better day was Eagles defensive end Trent Cole. He was dominant in the Eagles' 38-10 victory over the Panthers.
