Cowboys linebacker DeMarcus Ware went on the "All-Pro Show" on 103.3 FM ESPN in Dallas on Monday and said he "hated" the New York Giants. He then told Blogging the Boys essentially the same thing. And as Mike Fisher pointed out, Ware delivered his message in his usual good-natured way.
Well, our guy from the Newark Star-Ledger, Mike Garafolo, got wind of the quote and decided to ask running back Jacobs about it during a celebrity event Tuesday evening at Tavern on the Green in Central Park. As you might expect, Jacobs didn't hold anything back.
"No question," Jacobs told Garafolo. "I hate the Cowboys with a bloody passion."
Asked about the difference between "bloody passion" and "regular passion," Jacobs said, "You want to go into the game as being assassins instead of tough football players in a game like that."
I guess that pretty much explains everything. Some of you will recall that Jacobs told the Beast on Sunday (scroll to the bottom) that the Cowboys should've opened their new stadium with the Lions instead of the Giants. He followed up on that point with Garafolo on Tuesday.
"I'm really, really, really excited for the opportunity to be able to open up their new stadium and play against them," he said. "I'm glad they picked us. I guess it says something about them playing a certain team I guess they thought were the perfect ones to go in there and get their first win (against)."
