Week 4 predictions in the Beast

10/2/2009

The ESPN experts were almost unanimous in picking three NFC East teams to win Sunday. All eight panelists predicted a Redskins win over the Bucs, which is a little surprising when you consider the loss to the Lions.

Chris Mortensen and Seth Wickersham were the only experts to pick against the Beast. They both picked the Broncos to beat the Cowboys. Here are my predictions:

Cowboys 34, Broncos 21: I know the Broncos' defense hasn't allowed many points (16), but I think Tony Romo and the Cowboys will break this one open in the passing game. And in the second half, the Cowboys' defense will put some hits on Kyle Orton. This one will be close for a little while, but the Cowboys will run away with it in the fourth quarter.

Giants 31, Chiefs 7: Tom Coughlin will not allow his team to have a letdown after last week's 24-0 shutout against Tampa Bay. I think Eli Manning throws a long touchdown early in the game and then the running game takes it home. You get the home crowd out of it early.

Redskins 17, Bucs 14: It won't be easy, but the Skins will take it. I think Jim Zorn will actually commit to the running game in the first half and the defense will seal the game with an interception down the stretch. The Skins are bad, but they're not bad enough to go belly up to the Bucs at home.
