I realize the Eagles aren't playing today, but we're not going to totally ignore them. While Andy Reid gave his players last week off, he was working out a couple of defensive ends. The Eagles reportedly worked out Marcus Howard and Terrance Carter, according to Scout.com's Adam Kaplan.
The Eagles already have six defensive ends on the 53-man roster, but they would certainly like to upgrade if possible. Defensive coordinator Sean McDermott would like to add some more versatility to his pass rush. The Eagles have a couple defensive ends who are capable of moving inside on passing downs, but they could still use more firepower on the outside. Howard, a fifth-round pick in '08 for the Colts, could certainly help out on special teams.
Carter's an undrafted rookie out of Colorado State. Here's what Bleeding Green Nation had to say about the Eagles' situation at defensive end.
