How worried should you be about Manning?

Gary Myers of the New York Daily News says that Eli Manning is the Giants' only irreplaceable player and his absence would derail a potential Super Bowl run by the team. Fortunately for Giants fans, Manning has always been a quick healer. Some of you will recall his right shoulder injury at the beginning of '07. Doctors originally ruled him out for a month, but Manning only missed a day or two of practice.
I could see the benefit of letting Manning rest against the Raiders on Sunday, but I assure you that the quarterback will fight that scenario. He's the unquestioned leader of this team and sitting out is not an option for him. If he's told that rest will not significantly help his foot, I'm pretty sure he'll be on the field.
But how much will the injury hamper him throughout the season? Well, we're about to find out. There are no quick fixes for plantar fasciitis -- and it's not something a lot of quarterbacks have.
