Nicks in, Phillips out for Giants vs. Saints

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who missed practice time this week due to a knee injury and was listed as questionable, is active and will start Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints at MetLife Stadium. Nicks went through pregame warmups and didn't appear to be running full-strength, but he was deemed healthy enough to help.

Safety Kenny Phillips, however, who missed six games earlier this season with a knee injury but played the last two games, is inactive and will not play. Phillips was a significant help to the Giants' defense two weeks ago against the Packers, but he injured the knee again late in that game and was limited Monday Night in Washington. His absence Sunday will hurt the run defense and limit their ability to run the three-safety looks they've been using in recent weeks as they attempt to slow down Drew Brees and the Saints' offense.
