Tim MacMahon credits the Cowboys for holding firm and not committing long term to Anthony Spencer off of one very good year. I think Tim's right, but I also think it was a mistake to franchise Spencer for the second year in a row, considering where the market for pass-rushers ended up.
First-round pick Travis Frederick has signed his contract. I never understand why this is news. It's not as though he could have signed somewhere else, and at this point we even know pretty much what the deals are going to be. But people do seem to care, so I thought I'd mention it.
New York Giants

Michael Vick says he wasn't trying to start trouble a few weeks back when he said he'd like Chip Kelly to name a starting quarterback soon. We knew that, Michael. It's the offseason. We overreact.
The Eagles are getting used to the idea of having training camp at home this year.
Keith McMillan looks at the effect of expectations on the Redskins, and the ways in which this year's are so different from the ones they and their fans had a year ago.
