With Marion Barber and Felix Jones banged up over the past month, Cowboys running back Tashard Choice has been thrust into the spotlight again. But even with Barber and Jones appearing to be somewhat healthy again, owner Jerry Jones says Choice needs to keep getting carries.
The X factor is Felix Jones, who is returning from a knee injury. He's the most dangerous weapon the Cowboys have, but his durability is a major question. I'd play him about the same amount of snaps he usually gets; six or seven carries and about three catches. Until he can stay healthy for an extended amount of time, there's no reason to increase his workload.
I'll be out at Valley Ranch today working on a column. Anyone in that locker room you've been dying to hear from?

"I can tell you Barber is going to be in better shape than he was last week or two weeks ago," Jones said during his weekly radio appearance. "But Tashard is certainly earned and going to get a big part of the load."
Barber will remain the starter -- despite the protest of some fans and Dallas radio talk show hosts. And that's the way it should be. Let Barber bang on a defense for a series or two and then bring in a fresh Choice. It's a nice change of pace. This idea that you need to start Choice is all wrong. The same argument is going on in the Meadowlands with Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw. The X factor is Felix Jones, who is returning from a knee injury.
