ARLINGTON, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will not play Sunday against the St. Louis Rams as he continues to suffer from a sore left knee.

Spencer missed the season opener against the New York Giants but was able to play in a backup role against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. He practiced only on Thursday on a limited basis. George Selvie will continue to start.

Spencer has missed more than two games in a season in his career only once, in 2008 when he played in 12 games.

Joining Spencer on the inactive list are running back Joseph Randle, linebacker Ernie Sims, guard David Arkin, tackle Darrion Weems, tight end Andre Smith and defensive tackle David Carter. Wide receiver Cole Beasley is active for the first time this season.
