PHILADELPHIA -- As expected, Eagles running back Brian Westbrook is inactive for today's game against the Giants. We pretty much knew he wouldn't play based on the fact that he was knocked unconscious during last Monday's 27-17 win over the Redskins, but coach Andy Reid refused to rule him out during the week.

Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham (shoulder) was hopeful that he'd be able to play after missing practice time this week, but he's been ruled inactive. That clears the way for Domenik Hixon to return to the starting lineup and for rookie Hakeem Nicks to get more snaps. If Nicks has a big day against the Eagles -- and I actually think he will -- it will be hard to keep him out of the starting lineup.
