Eagles sign second-round pick Matthews

PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia Eagles signed second-round draft pick Jordan Matthews on Tuesday.

Matthews, a standout wide receiver from Vanderbilt, was selected with the No. 42 overall pick by the Eagles in the NFL draft. In fact, the Eagles moved up 12 spots to grab Matthews.

Matthews became the sixth of the Eagles' seven draft picks to sign.

The 6-foot-3 Matthews left Vanderbilt as the all-time SEC leader in career receptions (262) and yards (3,759).

Only first-round draft choice Marcus Smith remains unsigned. A linebacker from Louisville, Smith was chosen with the No. 26 overall selection in the first round.
