Earlier this evening, I had a chance to visit with Redskins rookie linebacker Brian Orakpo via 103.3 FM ESPN in Dallas-Fort Worth. The former University of Texas star didn't hold anything back when we asked him what he saw the Cowboys' offense doing against the Packers in Sunday's 17-7 loss.

"It seemed like they didn’t know who to block,” Orakpo said. “You see guys flying out of nowhere and hitting Romo from behind and forcing fumbles. I mean, they were all over the place. I guess what we’ve got to do is switch it up ourselves. We’ll see how the gameplan is and what the calls will be called, but obviously, we got a lot of tips from that game."

Here's the audio of our interview with Orakpo on "Galloway and Company." Orakpo, taken 13th overall in last April's draft, is a leading candidate for defensive rookie of the year. I thought he would struggle in moving from defensive end to linebacker, but he's made a relatively smooth transition. He and defensive end Andre Carter combined for three sacks in Sunday's upset win over the Broncos.

Now, Orakpo thinks the Skins can go to school on what the Packers did to confuse the Cowboys' offense.

"They gave us a lot of good tips the way Green Bay was able to get after it with a lot of different looks," Orakpo said. "Best believe we’re going to go out there and try to perform some of those things and try to change it up a little bit and give Dallas a little different look."

Some of my colleagues thought Orakpo might regret some of his comments, but I think he enjoyed getting out the sharp stick. Orakpo grew up in the Houston area as an avid Oilers fan. He has a healthy dislike of Dallas and the Cowboys, so he seemed to enjoy the conversation.

Orakpo also wanted to make it clear that Texas Christian University couldn't stay with Texas in a matchup that will never happen because of the current BCS system.
