Giants quarterback Eli Manning told reporters Monday that he's not concerned that a stress reaction in his injured right foot will lead to something more serious. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Sunday that the Giants were concerned that the stress reaction might lead to a stress fracture, which could possibly knock Manning out of the lineup.

"In the games it doesn't bother me and I don't think about it," said Manning. "This is not something I am overly concerned with. It has been the same for probably the last three to four weeks, it's nothing new. I can go out and practice and do all I need to do."

He did admit that all the treatments were affecting his schedule.

"It is frustrating, kind of one thing leading to another," said Manning. "When you have to go to the training room and get treatment, it throws your schedule out of whack. It kind of pushes things back. I am a guy who doesn't like to be in a training room. That's been probably the biggest annoyance trying to deal with it."

Manning doesn't think his injured foot will require surgery after the season. At 6-5, the Giants are approaching must-win territory. A loss to the Cowboys on Sunday would drop them three games behind the Cowboys. The Cowboys know what it's like to play a desperate team on the road. They found out the hard way against the Packers in a 17-7 loss.

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips was asked about the opportunity to "bury" the Giants in the division race, but he obviously wanted no part of that line of questioning. Phillips admitted that he's taking a different approach this December, but he didn't want to elaborate. He said some of the changes will be overt and others won't be noticeable.
