Giants coach Tom Coughlin walked into the locker room Monday morning and congratulated his players for clinching the division title. Quarterback Eli Manning watched the Steelers beat the Cowboys on Sunday and said that it helped the day end on a positive note. Here's what else Manning had to offer Monday:
"Yeah, guys knew it," Manning said. "One of the first things coach Coughlin said when he walked in to the team meeting was, 'Congratulations on winning the NFC East.' It is important that the guys know that.
"I think that is a way of trying to lift the guys' spirits a little bit. It has been a while since we have lost games around here. It has gotten to the point where we are not used to it and that is a good thing. That is the way we are going to try to keep having that feeling and guys don't like to lose. It is frustrating knowing you forget how bad it is losing around here and that is also good so hopefully we can get back to that winning feeling."
