One of the more amusing things about the Philadelphia Eagles is that they often want pats on the back for players they swung and missed on. Last year it was Patriots free agent Randy Moss. The Eagles let everyone know they made a strong play for the wide receiver, even outbidding the Patriots.
And on the day the Panthers re-signed left tackle Jordan Gross, you could see it coming. The Eagles are letting it be known that they would've been in the running.
So let me ask the Eagles fans: Do you guys applaud your team for these attempts or does it seem like window dressing? The Eagles desperately need help at offensive tackle. Now it appears they'll have to address the situation through the draft.
And the prospect of switching Shawn Andrews from guard to tackle scares me. When he's healthy, Andrews is an elite guard. Why would you mess with that? The Cowboys used to move future Hall of Famer Larry Allen around -- and it wasn't a good thing. Keep Andrews at guard and use one of those first-round picks to find you an offensive tackle. Michael Oher do anything for you?
