Update on Asante Samuel's hamstring
By Dan Graziano
Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel's hamstring injury is not expected to keep him out long, according to the Daily News. Samuel left practice early Tuesday, but he didn't appear to have his hamstring wrapped in ice when reporters saw him later in the day.
Here's what I wrote about the Eagles' cornerback situation Tuesday morning. The Eagles can't afford for Samuel or Ellis Hobbs to miss significant time because there's not a lot of quality depth at that position. But the one player I failed to mention Tuesday morning was rookie Trevard Lindley. He could be a standout on special teams and it's looking like he's catching on quickly to the defense.
Hobbs blamed his illness Tuesday on bad cereal, according to the Daily News. Let this be a lesson to all NFL players: There are a lot of questionable dry cereals on the market. Have a wonderful evening.
In the morning, I'll have a story on Martellus Bennett that may catch you by surprise. Plan on reading that at 9:30 a.m. ET if your schedule permits. And if you'd like to continue today's NFC East discussion, stop by Winchester's in Ventura, Calif.
