Willie Parker doesn't make the cut
By Matt Mosley
The Washington Redskins have informed running back Willie Parker that he's going to be released Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
It would have been much more surprising had the Redskins decided to keep Parker, who didn't receive a lot of reps in training camp nor the preseason. It looks like Mike Shanahan will rely on Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson and Ryan Torain at running back.
I believe that Torain will eventually overtake Johnson as Portis' primary backup. He's a better fit for Shanahan's one-cut approach.
Schefter also reports that Parker's in the process of hiring a new agent.
