NEW YORK -- Giants general manager Jerry Reese and his staff took a long look at why Hakeem Nicks put on 12 pounds leading up to his pro day. At a time when teams are turning up the nit-pick heat, it was a curious move by Nicks. He'd suffered a hamstring injury, but there was still no excuse for weighing in so heavy.
In the end, the Giants talked to enough people to feel comfortable taking Nicks. He's certainly not as tall as Burress at a little over 6-feet, but he's thick at 212 pounds -- and is a willing blocker. That has earned him some comparisons to Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin -- a player the Giants have coveted.
And with that, we're off to Round 2. You guys having fun yet? Are Giants fans satisfied with this pick? How much happier would you have been if Reese traded up for Jeremy Maclin?
