Eagles selling Rodgers-Cromartie jerseys?
By Dan Graziano
About 600 people tweeted me about this, so even though I think it's kind of silly, it's worth a post. The Eagles' team website earlier today was apparently offering fans a chance to buy Eagles jerseys with Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie's name and No. 29 on the back. I was directed by my intrepid Twitter followers to this page, which allows you to customize your Eagles jersey, and at the time, Rodgers-Cromartie's name appeared on the drop-down menu among the names of the players currently on the Eagles' roster. It has since been removed from the list.
Look. Reading anything into this is the product of impatience and nothing else. Everybody wants this Kevin Kolb deal done so we can all get on with our lives and the Eagles can get on to other business. And based on ESPN's reporting and that of almost everyone else who's paying attention, the strong likelihood remains that the Eagles will end up dealing Kolb to Arizona for Rodgers-Cromartie and a draft pick. It hasn't happened yet, but the latest indicator that it will is the Dolphins' apparent interest in acquiring Kyle Orton from the Broncos. Orton was an option for Arizona if it didn't get Kolb.
Remember, it doesn't make sense for the Eagles to deal Kolb at all unless they get starting-quarterback prices in return. So it doesn't make sense for them to rush into it. No matter how eager their fans may be for them to get it done so they can get their hands on those Rodgers-Cromartie jerseys.
