Don't bet against Portis playing

Redskins running back Clinton Portis is no stranger to the injury report, but he normally finds a way to play through the pain. I think Washington needs him more than ever against the Bucs on Sunday. And even though coach Jim Zorn called him "50-50" with a calf bruise and ankle issues, I fully expect Portis to be on the field Sunday.
"It's not a concern for me," Portis told reporters at Redskins Park on Wednesday. "I know how to go out and play without practicing. I can go out and play. I think I'm in shape. You watch me play in the game on Sunday, I think I picked up my assignment, I know my assignment. I know what I'm supposed to do, and I try to get it done."Marcus Mason and Ladell Betts would likely split carries if Portis isn't able to go. I think it's time for the Redskins to give Mason some more touches. We know what Betts is. I'd love to find out how Mason would respond in a big spot. And don't let Sunday's opponent fool you. This is the biggest game of the season for Washington so far.
