Michael Vick injured, leaves Eagles game
By Dan Graziano
PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has left Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys with what the team is calling an eye injury. The team also announced that Vick was being evaluated for a concussion. Rookie Nick Foles is in the game at quarterback, and the crowd here at Lincoln Financial Field cheered when he went onto the field with the offense with 7:41 left in the second quarter and the game tied 7-7. Many fans have been calling for weeks for the Eagles to replace the struggling Vick with Foles anyway.
Vick was hit hard on a third-down play on the Eagles' first drive of the second quarter and went to the locker room during the ensuing Cowboys possession. There's no word on his likelihood to return to the game. Should Foles play well in his absence, it will only strengthen the argument of those who would like to see a quarterback change for the 3-5 Eagles.
Vick has been under relentless pressure all season, in part due to the fact that the Eagles are missing four starting offensive linemen. But until this game, he'd taken every snap at quarterback for the Eagles this year.
UPDATED (5:32 pm ET): The Eagles announced that Vick has a concussion and will not return to the game. This also obviously puts his status for next week's game in Washington in doubt.
