Breakfast links: Murray, Phillips improving
By Dan Graziano
Mike Shanahan went on Scott Van Pelt's radio show and talked about Robert Griffin III's recovery and how he compares to other quarterbacks the Redskins coach has known.
Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon had shoulder surgery this offseason and says his shoulder is fine. He opted not to have surgery on the foot injury that bothered him all through 2012, but he says that's fine, too. Garcon is feeling fine, is the general theme here.
The leaking of the Cowboys' draft board is threatening to become an annual tradition, and here's what Blogging the Boys has figured out about the way the board looked this year. Shows you why they went with Travis Frederick there at the end of the second round, right? It was a long way down to the next offensive lineman on their board.
Calvin Watkins reports that running back DeMarco Murray returned to Cowboys practice this week. Murray had been missing practice time due to hamstring problems.
New York Giants
Even in the Giants' perfect world, in which Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz show up soon and start practicing and each play 16 games, they'd like 2012 second-round pick Rueben Randle to make a big jump forward. The absence of Nicks and Cruz from the current voluntary workouts is offering Randle a chance to show he can do that.
The latest linebacker the Giants have brought in is Kyle Bosworth, whose uncle was Brian Bosworth, who was pretty famous in his day in case you're too young to remember.
Geoff Mosher reports that the Eagles expect safety Kenny Phillips to be able to practice next week. Phillips sat out this week's practices due to concerns over his perpetually injured knee, which is an issue that isn't going away.
The Eagles' new offense offers the potential for mass confusion, but part of the plan, apparently, is that things can still work if everyone is all wrong together.
