Spencer, Bryant limited at practice
By Tim MacMahon
IRVING, Texas -- Defensive end Anthony Spencer and receiver Dez Bryant were listed as limited participants on the Dallas Cowboys' official injury report after Thursday's practice. They both sat out Wednesday's practice.
Spencer continues to deal with soreness in his right knee, on which he had arthroscopic surgery July 25, sidelining him for the entire preseason and season opener. He played in a reserve role last week in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bryant is battling back problems that began when he took a hit during his nine-catch, 141-yard performance against the Chiefs. He did extra stretching and light jogging while his teammates did on-air work and one-on-one drills during the portion of practice open to the media.
“I’m doing all right,” Bryant said Thursday before acknowledging that he was dealing with soreness and stiffness.
Defensive end DeMarcus Ware (neck) and cornerback Morris Claiborne (shoulder) were limited in practice for the second consecutive day.
Reserve linebacker Ernie Sims still hasn’t practiced because of the groin strain that caused him to miss last week’s game.
