Another big game for Jacobs

As most of you know by now, the NFC East is stacked at the running back position. If forced to rank them right now, I'd go Clinton Portis, Brian Westbrook, Brandon Jacobs and Marion Barber. There's not another division that can come close to that type of depth. And then you have the second-tier of running backs, which I'd rank Derrick Ward, Felix Jones, Ladell Betts and Correll Buckhalter.

Thanks to the Next-Level Data division of ESPN Stats & Analysis, we've broken down Jacobs' numbers from the Giants' 35-14 victory over the Cowboys:

Jacobs by direction
 LeftMiddleRight
Attempts584
Yards294939
Yards per Attempt5.8 6.1 9.8
TD100
1st downs311

The fact that the Giants did so well in the running game put Eli Manning in manageable third-down situations. He was shaky Sunday, but on third down, he was 6 of 8 for 50 yards and two touchdowns. And five of the six throws went for first downs. When you can dominate a team on an off night, that's saying something.
